Steampunk Abbey Chase - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
This was probably the hardest steampunk rendition of a character I ever did. Simply because the character doesn’t have a very identifiable look to her. No stand out costume elements, no stand out weapon or accessory. So I had a relatively hard time.
Magik - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
This one I had to complete while I was at C2E2 so I took a photograph of it as I couldn’t have it scanned. From all the commissions I did for C2E2 2014 I think this turned out to be my favourite. I might be a little partial to drawing the character too.
Lady Loki - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
I’ve always thought the idea to turn Loki into a woman was great. It feels a lot like a weird thing the Norse gods would do. In any case, I like the look of this iteration of the character so this was quite a bit of fun.
Nancy - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
I just loved working on this being a fan of Sin City. I’ve always wanted to do some fan art about the comic so this was a legitimate reason for me to do one. I like how it ended up as well.
Scarlet Witch - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
Normally I don’t think I’ve ever really could get this character down before but this time around I felt more comfortable. I think I’ve not been comfortable with the hair before. One thing that is always fun with her is that I can play around with some nice magic effects for her.
Steampunk Spark - C2E2 Pre-Show Commission
This one was for my friend Jeff Moy who was actually one of the artists on the Legion Of Superheroes series. It wasn’t easy to actually do a steampunk version of a character I never knew about from before.
Poison Ivy - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
Every time I work on Pamela, I try to do something different. I think there are many ways to portray her and I’m never content with conveying that the same way twice. At least for now until I find something I’m more comfortable with.
Wolverine - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
When I get asked to do a character such as Wolverine I get the chance to do some things I normally wouldn’t on a commission which is a lot of fun. With male characters in general I like the fact that I can be bolder with some choices I make with the rendering.
Steampunk Valkyrie - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
Now this was a tough one. I had to make a lot of decisions on how to do things with this character’s steampunk design. I ended up being content with the design. I do enjoy the hair very much here.
Cyclops & Jean Grey - TGS Springbreak 2014 Pre-Show Commission
Now it is very very rare that I do a multiple character commission. This one I agreed on as it was for a special occassion involving a couple of good friends. Besides, I got to draw one of my favourite couples in comics growing up.
Flash - TGS Springbreak 2014 Pre-Show Commission
When I was much younger I used to love Flash a lot. Especially his battles with the evil Flash were fascinating to me. Now this is the first time I drew the character in a commission. Turned out nicely. Happy that this went out to a friend.
Dejah Thoris - TGS Springbreak 2014 Pre-Show Commission
The Princess Of Mars is becoming a common request. Wherever I go it seems like I get one request for a commission of her. Not that I’m complaining.
Lady Sif - TGS Springbreak 2014 Pre-Show Commission
First time I drew this character as a commission. First times are good!
Batman - C2E2 2014 Pre-Show Commission
Another Batman commission. I’m beginning to get more comfortable in drawing the Dark Knight nowadays. I used to have a very hard time in how I should portray him.
Magdalena - Germany Tour 2014 Pre-Show Commission
First time ever I’m drawing this character. There are certain charms and difficulties to drawing a new character. It’s not as simple as just looking at a costume and copying it in your style. Drawing Magdalena as if I was drawing Emma Frost wouldn’t be accurate so I have to make a preliminary study to capture the personality, physical attributes and attitude.
